Fitting Instructions
1.) The uPVC track should be glued, screwed and plugged down, using Morley Fast Setting Gripper Adhesive, and screws provided.
2.) The track can be bent and shaped to the line of the floor you want to lay. The track supplied, is slotted to allow shaping to the contour of the floor.
3.) If fitting onto a concrete floor, lay the track in place, mark the screw hole positions, then drill and plug. For both wood and concrete floors, apply a thin bead of Morley Fast Setting Gripper Adhesive to the underside of the u PVC
track, screw and plug at both ends of the track first, push the track to the contour of the floor and screw and plug the remaining holes.
4.) Lay the flooring up and onto the uPVC track, leaving an expansion gap for laminate and wood flooring (see flooring manufacturers recommendations).
5.) Once the base track and flooring are in place, choose the appropriate top and apply heat. The heat can be applied by hot air gun. Gently move the gun up and down the profile until you feel the profile softening in your hands. The more heat you apply, the softer it becomes. The difficulty of bend will dictate how much heat you apply. N.B. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH HEAT:
NB! ! When applying the heat, please ensure that the nozzle is ALWAYS at least 6" 1'50mm from the surface of the profile top. Applying too much heat may distort the profile shape.
Other options of heat appliance are hot water. Simply pass the chosen top through the water very slowly, pausing from time to time to let the heat take effect. Dry off the profile, and then angle the profile at one end and push firmly
into the track.
6.) Move along the length of the track, shaping it to the contour, pushing in the top
so that the profile sits flush against the surface of the flooring. It may be
necessary to apply more heat as you go down the track
7.) When the top is firmly in place, inspect the edges either side, there maybe the
odd ripple. If this is so, gently apply more heat and push the ripple down, it will
cool flush to the surface of the flooring. Please ensure that you do not scorch
the flooring.
NB!! When bending the cover and ramp profile, please do not attempt a radius of
less than 400mm when bending. The square profile, do not attempt a radius of less
than 600mm. |
